Damascene Book Cellar
Damascene is located on SUNY Oneonta's campus. I have worked for Damascene since 2018 and became a manager March of 2021. As a manager, my responsibilities include bookkeeping, helping customers in-person and over the phone, helping/managing the financial aid for SUNY Oneonta students, and more.
January of 2021, I created their signage in-store, managing their social media such as Instagram and Facebook, and updating/managing the store's website. As of June 2022 the bookstore is no longer in business.
Below on the left is the original homepage of the website and on the right is my code and design. There are limitations upon editing the code for their website. The business used a template from Nebraska Book Company to sell all their available books in stock. Nebraska Book Company uses an application called Bitvise SSH Client and Microsoft Expression to edit the website. I am able to use HTML and CSS code to make altercations on certain pages.
In the duration the site was live, you were able to hover over the images changing them to an icon with the current image tinted. Selecting the image would take you to page as described. I also made sure other pages were constantly updated with due dates for the students and would change the images based on the time of year and what students needed for classes.
Below are some posts and stories I created for Damascene's Instagram using Adobe InDesign and occasionally Canva. You can find their instagram account @damascenebookcellar. Some of these posts were also posted to Facebook.
Lastly, the signage I created for the store. The 4 above are the old designs (pre-COVID as well) while the 4 below are designs i created. I used Adobe illustrator and inDesign to recreate and update the style of their posters and register signs.
